Today I went to work as usual. I started working on the first patient when I realized the other hygienist had come in, but there was only one column scheduled. No one said anything. Half an hour later I realized I wasn't even supposed to BE there (it wasn't my name on the schedule) and still no one had said anything! Luckily my dentist had hygiene patients scheduled the other hygienist took over. A few hours later I vaguely remembered agreeing not to come in today. I literally stole her patients. April Fools' to myself, I guess!

spring is here!

Broke out the Birks (and OPI in barefoot in Barcelona) today... perfect timing for St. Paddy's. I had no specific intention of celebrating (getting up at 5am to teach will do that to you) but I donned some green and headed out for Guinness fuelled shenanigans and a good night. (By good night, I still mean home by 11pm... oh, over the hill at 25!)

Lady Gaga always has the oddest videos. I was interested to see her wearing foot undeez (once the dancing actually starts) like I wear in pole dancing, though! The song is slowly growing on me from hearing it played over and over, but i don't like it as much as her other stuff. This video also makes me want a ribcage piece.

Next session we are graduating footwear... check out these babies i just ordered off of eBay! 6 inches of clear plastic goodness.

That is, if my currently injured wrist allows me to move on!

How has it been like 3 weeks already since I blogged? Oops. Here is a babbling post explaining one of the reasons for lack of content.

Anyways, last weekend I hosted my sister's bridal shower. For those of you who weren't there, it was probably the most stressful day in recent memory. (I'm sure, say, my dental hygiene entrance exam was more stressful, so I'll try not to exaggerate too much!). We rented out Hugh Foster hall in downtown Milton... and while we were setting up, one of the other girls locked us out! In the pouring rain no less. And then everyone decided to show up early. (Who does that? Fashionably late is where it's at!). So, Stephanie is texting me asking if she can come yet in the middle of the panic. Eventually stuff got sorted and on track but I think it's understandable that when people asked how it was going my response was, "This is a DISASTER!" (melodramatic under stress, much?)

But, amid the panic there were lots of nice touches. My co-worker made this gorgeous cake that was tasty even with fondant (which I've heard isn't usually so nice to eat!). Even the bow is fondant!

And we made cute favours :)

Moral of the story? Never let the key out of your sight. Or just have the shower at a house. 

On the plus side, I mastered the art of delegating!

one of the places i was strongly considering before i decided on the Netherlands was Sweden. Why? seems like there is a swedish theme going on with my interests right now.

Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy- the girl with the dragon tattoo starts off a bit slow but once the story picks up, it just (mostly) keeps on going through the whole series. According to my kobo i'm 78% complete the 3rd book. Apparently his wife is considering finishing the fourth novel that was nearly complete when Stieg died. I've also watched 2/3 of the foreign, subtitled films.

Robyn. i love this girl. getting right up front to the stage in the summer was pretty much the coolest experience. This picture is obvi from before we got bumped up.

ikea. I think this one goes with the need for an explanation or pictures. Remember my new duvet? the insert is from Ikea, lol. Driven to while listening to Robyn.

H&M... new jeans and legwarmers... perfect for to & from the studio in chilly weather! 

So, Sweden has been added to the list of places to visit.

so, not only am i a terrible blogger but a terrible room decorator, too. remember me moving into the big bedroom WAAAAAAAY back when? Yah, still haven't put anything on the walls or packed away that last bin of crap.

new years goals? get organized. i made big strides in cleaning and organizing my room (although still more to be done). I found this sweet set at urban outfitters. as much as i do not love their clothing, i dream of decorating my future home with their apartment stuff. 

i also love sales. polka dot ruffled duvet set and curtains? yes, please. (still not 100% if i'll hang the curtains... depends if it's ruffle overload).

i've also been drooling over this measuring cup set since i saw it in October, so i made it mine. And the house collection begins... now accepting donations!

A few cool iPhone snaps from last Friday- headed to the city for a conference. It was a weird weekend- really foggy, like being in a horror film.

First snap... pulling into one of the train stations.

It cleared up while I was waiting to be picked up for dinner at Fresh, my fave. (I really need to branch out... anyone know any other awesome vegetarian/vegan restos in T.O.?)

By the time she picked me up... the fog was overtaking the city!!

Then I proceeded to take "the girls" out one last time... resulting in possibly the worst hangover of my life. Urgh. Some of the first words out of my mouth post-surg? "I feel drunk". Lol, apparently not uncommon. I'm feeling pretty dece now considering I had fat both cut and sucked out of my chest 4 days ago... weird to think that I've actually had lipo! Odd.

Recovery = lots of movies (including an HP marathon, Love Actually & The Holiday), jewelry making and some schoolwork, although mostly slacking on schoolwork thanks to my fuzzy brain, oops.
