new bedroom

so, not only am i a terrible blogger but a terrible room decorator, too. remember me moving into the big bedroom WAAAAAAAY back when? Yah, still haven't put anything on the walls or packed away that last bin of crap.

new years goals? get organized. i made big strides in cleaning and organizing my room (although still more to be done). I found this sweet set at urban outfitters. as much as i do not love their clothing, i dream of decorating my future home with their apartment stuff. 

i also love sales. polka dot ruffled duvet set and curtains? yes, please. (still not 100% if i'll hang the curtains... depends if it's ruffle overload).

i've also been drooling over this measuring cup set since i saw it in October, so i made it mine. And the house collection begins... now accepting donations!

hmm, maybe i'm more domestic than i thought.

My goal is to create one of these crane trees as seen in 500 Days of Summer.
I just need to find a pot and some twigs!

On a Zooey Deschanel note, I have discovered a (local!) friend who is equally Zooey obsessed and would pay to see She & Him in concert next month, purely based on Zooey and not so much the music.

As for pics of the completed room.. I'm so horrible it's not done. I bought a stupid "hard drive" that actually is the lamest thing ever and I've been procrastating the ridiculous process I have to go through to get my pics off it. I swear, I'm going to do it RIGHT NOW.

Wallpaper is up!

Lovely surprise when I got home from a long day at work. (That's right- actual WORK! I'm temping this WHOLE week!)
Looks amazing. Can't wait to actually move in, which will involve a huge purge and re-organization process- DESPERATELY needed. (Unfortunately I'm insanely busy this week, between work, yoga and trying to stop slacking on school. Also taking a photography course at Henry's to learn about my DSLR!)
Paish- how do you store and/or display your necklaces? I'm accumulating and even with my neckland stand, it's becoming a jumbled mess.

I've just bought a bunch of amazing frames (and plan to buy some more, going nuts) to adorn my soon-to-be-made over bedroom.
Question: Is it lame to have travel pictures of yourself (like, with no one else) in your own room?

Black & White Damask!

Made the most sense, especially since it was the only one actually in-stock. Now I just have to decide if I love the black chandelier more than a ceiling fan. So gorgeous! I'm going for a boudoir feel, I hope. Also found a cool chalkboard decal shaped like a vintage gothic mirror. Pics when it's up on the wall. Excited to get this going, we'll see when I can actually twist my dad's arm into helping me wallpaper and move big furniture!

Vote, friends!

I'm taking back the big bedroom since it looks like I'll be home for a while longer. I'm going to jazz it up with some wallpaper (on one focal wall), and found these cool designs at Lowes Wallpaper Studio.
What's your vote, friends? Use the poll over here <---------- and vote by THIS AFTERNOON!! Info: walls are a sky-ish blue, but always changeable. Furniture is Ikea Oak, not ideal but a pain in the butt to change, so I'm dealing. Picture frames are black and silver. See some accessories (all not too important) here. I also have sheer plum curtain and sheer dark teal curtains available.

Step I

Today is PAINTING DAY!

This is only coat #1- i still have to wait a few more hours before the second. And, I'm so proud, I did this all by my lonesome! (maybe you can tell lol- so what!) My Japanese Cherry Blossom theme is coming together!
P.S. The paint looks much better then this- these are crappy phone pics. More to come...

AND- I just discovered there are cherry blossoms in Brooklyn- and it will be Sakura (blooming of the Cherry Blossoms) when I'm in NYC! OMG I am beyond excited. It just made my day.
