Does anyone else think the petite contestants on ANTM are extra loud when squealing compared to "normal" (i.e. tall-ass) seasons?
My poor ears.

Chute Montmorency
Between the Danger Signs at the edges of the Citadelle walls and the name of this waterfall, I was able to deduce that "chute" = "fall(s?)". Man my French is improving. (Also: how did I not know about this Explore program- a free 5 week french course including food and accommodation! Next summer, perhaps?)
Apparently its 30m higher than Niagara Falls or something like that.

Yup.We conquered those bad boys. 400+ each way!

Must share
Yes, he is quite fat. His long hair gets all matted so we get him shaved every so often. Since he's a schitzo (NO idea how to spell that one), he has to be sedated.
Here, view him high and happy. He's never been nicer.
The best part is the bill actually calls this style the "Lion Clip".

Pics my bro took of Mango.

find cool shoes (I'm thinking ankle-boots for fall/winter) that don't cost a fortune? Cause I'm broke but want shoes.
Help.

Coming soon...
Will blog soon. I've got to upload photos from my trip, but sleep comes first. Let's just say I did enough partying and staying out late to catch a cold. I sound pretty rough.
Highlights include:
-Light show/video on parliament hill
-a free Cirque du Soleil show in the streets of Quebec City
-walking down and up 400+ stairs at a waterfall just outside of Quebec
-hiking up a mountain in the middle of Montreal. Bun of steel anyone?
-drinking on the hills of the Plains of Abraham late at night
-a wicked-cool apartment building spotted in Montreal (you'll see what i mean when I post the pic!)
Non-photographed highlights of the trip include:
-2 new pairs of sunglasses from Aldo Accessories. I have a design idea for an evolved sunglasses case. The arms alway scratch my lenses. BOO.
-Visiting the Hull casino... TWO nights in a row!
-Just chillin with my family. ♥
-driving for my first time downtown Ottawa!
-gorgeous old buildings in Montreal of which i failed to photograph. Sad, but stunning!
-POUTINE.
-an unexpected day working at my aunt's dental office in Ottawa. Good way to help fund the trip!
Lastly. Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

ways to wear
So, in light of needing nice vacay clothing for Cuba, I bought a Cotton Spandex Jersey Bandeau Dress (in navy) from American Apparel. I knew of a few of the styles as I tried it on, and rocked the one shoulder look on Saturday night out in Montreal. Looking at the videos online and playing around with it, I am even more excited, and plan to buy another colour or two. So versatile, you can even make a cowl-neck top out of it! And the A-line style is really flattering.

LOVE.

Musee des beaux-arts du Quebec.
I arrived in Quebec City this evening after a long day of travel. Luckily the Quebec-Montreal and Montreal-Ottawa sectors will be much quicker!
Just walking around the city, I've already fallen in love with it! the buildings and old architecture are gorgeous. The fact that I'm on top of a hill makes for stunning views (although not such nice walks up from the train station!)
Not much of the touristy sights were open after 5-6pm, so I headed to the Musee des beaux-arts du Quebec, which is open late on Wednesdays. It was a bonus to find out the permanent collections, revolving around Quebecois artists, is free. That was enough to keep me occupied for the evening! Some snaps:
This was pretty neat- its a video of people holding a mirror, reflecting people viewing the art and trying to stand completely still. It was filmed exactly where the TV is placed, one on each end of the room.
From the Group of Seven- Alexander Young Jackson- "Hillside, St. Tite des Caps"
I loved this fresco. Jean-Paul Riopelle, "L'Hommage a Rosa Luxemburg".
A close up of one of the panels.
Even the light fixtures (ok, singular) were incredible. Claudie Gagnon, "Lustre". Click for larger.
The pic of this is too blurry for me to read. It's titled "Algonquins" but I can't make out the artist!
